The most FAQ in comp.sys.tahoe is "What is this group for?", followed
closely by "Is this group for discussion of 4.3Tahoe?"...

comp.sys.tahoe was created as a discussion group for CCI's 'Tahoe'
machine (a.k.a. CCI Power 6/32, Unisys 6000, Harris HCX-7, etc.).
It's a mostly dead parrot these days. The Tahoe was designed in
the mid 80's, and could be described as a semi-RISC'ed VAX. It
was fast for its time -- around 8x to 10x a 11/780.

I hope I haven't stepped on anybody's toes with the preceeding brief
description.

The CCI computer was resold as the Unisys 7000 series. The 6000 series
is based on 1 to 20 screaming 80486s and it is still running and selling
very well, thank you.
