Kanna, It isn't clear from your message if this is what you're trying to do, but you cannot run MacTCP and the mX at the same time through the EtherTalk board. Essentially, this means that if you have IP loaded on the mX, EtherTalk selected in the Network control panel on the Mac, and MacTCP (or any other TCP/IP-using program) running (or was running) on the Mac, then either the Mac applications will crash, or the mX will fail in a way consistent with what you describe (you'd think there'd at least be "You can't touch this" dialogs instead of fairly random errors). If you're not trying to use MacTCP (or equiv), then have you tried booting the Mac with Built-in selected, booting the mX, and then switching to EtherTalk (thus allowing EtherTalk speed for AppleTalk protocols)? What versions are you using? -- Rich
