Transputer network problems

We have a network of transputers hosted by a Sparc-2 with the Archipel
Volvox S-Bus board as root. We have intermittent network problems, of the
kind everyone seems to get, i.e.

Error - iserver - unable to write byte **** to the boot link.

Recently the problems have been getting worse, and we would like to have
some software to tell us where in the network the problems are occurring.
Has anyone ported ispy to a Volvox board? Suggestions of the cause have
included failure to reset some of the transputers in the network, use of
long cables (up to 2m) and maybe the C004's on out B008 motherboards not
setting the links correctly. Has anyone any other suggestions? The problems
have only got bad six months after we bought the stuff from Paratech,
who are unlikely to be of much help since they have gone bust.

Phil McLauchlan.
