3L FORTRAN: send w timeout

Dear Netters,

Trying 3L FORTRAN's F77_CHAN_OUT_WORD_T I've the following
problem: if no Transputer is connected to the link I
send the message, the routine hangs. Neither communication is
performed (how should) nor the timeout works.
Does anyone out there know the reason for that behaviour and
is there another possibility to check whether the link is
connected (without using the information provided in the .cfg-file)

Thanks in advance

Stephan
