Well having just returned from NATUG 5, I have some comments, questions and concerns. All in all it was a good conference with many interesting papers on a wide variety of subjects. Mr. Veronis et. al. did a splendid job putting things together. But I have one question....WHERE WAS SGS-THOMPSON??? I asked Dave Fielding about it and was told that they had promised to be there after two month's of Dave's prodding. (My hat's off to Dave for perserverance.) But still no SGS-Thompson. I cannot help to wonder if we were avoided. After all the T9000 is not out yet and may not be the hit SGST had hoped it would have been when it does arrive. Texas Instruments was there describing their TMS320C40 DSP. Granted it is not in final production yet but at least there is first silicon to be had. If this is going to be a regular practice for Thompson, then maybe the 'T' in NATUG should be re-evaluated. Keith A. Grimm "These are my views and not NASA-Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center necessarily those of my superiors Houston, Texas 77058 or agency"
