This is to draw your attention to transputer material in a textbook
which hopefully will prove useful. (Ok, I admit this is a plug for my book
but there is still little more than the manuals around. Student accessible
stuff is particularly rare.)
"Computer architecture & organization", Pitman 1990
by Ian East...
...contains over thirty pages on the transputer, explaining how it
supports Occam implementation. Many assembler code segments illustrate
how constructs, procedure invocation etc. are accomplished. It is intended
to be accessible by (fairly advanced) students.
Constructive criticisms welcome plus comments on just what kinds of books
are needed.
