Regarding foliding editors...

There are quite a few programmable editors for the PC available which 
seem to be sufficiently flexible to implement the folding.  Borlands Sprint,
Lugaro's (I'm not sure about that spelling) Epsilon, and Brief from
solution systems.  The later actually sponsors a macro writing contest
every year.
