This is in response to Paul Mitchell's question about whether GFX will run with CSTools. It is specific to Meiko systems. Yes, as I understand it, GFX is supposed to be usable with CSTools. We have an MK015 graphics board with a T414 plus 30K Mitsubishi monitor. I asked Meiko how to go about using CSTools in conjunction with GFX at the beginning of July. Three tapes, many phone calls and almost two months later it appears that there is a bug in the MK015 GFX software. Meiko plan to fix this but it is a low priority task so we'll have to wait for some indeterminate time. Meanwhile it looks like I've now got to teach my interested user Occam and OPS, something I was rather hoping to avoid. Needless to say my user is a bit fed up, especially at having been kept hanging around for two months. I think we basically ran into trouble because we are using a relatively old (or unusual) setup which Meiko hadn't tested the software on. You will probably have more luck with an MK052. There was a problem with the example program that first came with gfx for
cstools - the example crashed on one routine. The version we now have does
work ok. However there is no mouse input support yet in gfx/cstools so
you'll still need to use ops/occam/gfx for that.
BTW this based on experience with an MK052 board.
