I was wondering if anybody has run X windows on a Unisys system. We just got in a new 6000/35 with lots and lots of disk and I am just aching to fill it with something fun. I am going to pop a VGA card in it and try and make X386 run on it. Does anybody see any problems I might have.. before I have them? I am just looking for opinions on the subject... I have SVR4 and all the fun stuff.. X windows should work (just like any other 386/486 box ..I hope... ) Cheers Brian -- ========================================================================== Brian Jones email: brianj@skat.usc.edu University of Southern Cal bjones@aludra.usc.edu Computing Services

If you have the SVR4 version of CTIX, then X and Motif is included in the VAP-3 package. We OEM our SNMP manager to Unisys and it's mostly X applications

There is the PGE product from UNISYS, or I guess you could go some other route there. The system is essentially an EISA PC (33 or 66MHz i486). Currently the PS/2 mouse port driver is not supported, use a serial mouse on COM1. Release 1.1.2 will introduce PS/2 mouse support. Don't forget to use the ECU / SCU to add your video board. Note, the EISA config file !VCW6000.CFG should cover well enough for most VGA or SVGA controllers. Regards and enjoy ....
