I found a Xerox 6085 that had a Companion 386 attached. I want to use the 386 machine as a standalone PC. I found a VGA card and an ethernet card and successfully loaded Windows 3.1. SInce I saw a PS/2 style keyboard connector on the back I scrounged a PS/2 keyboard and it works great. One problem... The mouse. There is a PS/2 style mouse port on the back of the system. I tried a IBM mouse which fit but doesn't seem to work. I tried all the mouse options in the Windows setup utility and none seemed to wake up the mouse. When the system was hooked to the 6085, the mouse was plugged into the keyboard. I was wondering if there were a hardware jumper on the motherboard or something that I had to set. Any ideas are welcome. steve --- ___ ] [ Stephen Jamieson / Network Engineer || Unix Admin / o \ Scientific Information Systems /-o---\ Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute \___o_/ Internet: jamieson@bms.com / Phone: 609-252-5674
