Ok, maybe I should clear up a few things. I have done a chkdsk to make sure everything is OK. I forgot about the hidden files, it says I have about 8 megs of them. Isnt this a bit much? Im mostly an applications kinda guy, so I dont know much about configuration deals. Sorry. When I meant memory, I was meaning HD bytes available for storage. For one thing, I had at least 3.5 Megs free about a week ago, and the next thing I know I only have the 385K free. I just dont know where it went. I was thinking something along the lines of backups screwing things up or something. Does windows do this? Thanks a million! Derek PS It's not just windows that I have this problem with, Being in Dos does not free up any HD bytes. ------------------------------------------------------------------- "He lived a life of going-to-do, and died with nothing done" -J.
