hi,

    I put up the 3.1 version of Windows on our departmental machine
(all zenith products or distribution...) and everything sent to our
laser printer (postscript) gets flushed...turns out every file has ^D
both prepended and postpended (such a word?) to the file. This is
apparently done to reset the printer, but in our case, the initial ^D
flushes the output.
    I sent mail to ZDS asking for advice. They told me about the
CtrlD=0 line to be put in the WIN.INI file under the section for the
printer and port.
    End result? No difference. Here is a chunk of my WIN.INI file:

part of WIN.INI:

[PostScript,LPT2]
ATM=placeholder
CtrlD=0

[PrinterPorts]
PostScript Printer=pscript,LPT2:,15,90

[devices]
PostScript Printer=pscript,LPT2:

    So, anyone have any idea what I can do to stop the ^D from showing
up in front of every file I print?

-dab
