My brother-in-law has a Zenith 158-43 with a Hercules-plus display and reports
the following problem: When he runs WordPerfect 5.1 it hangs after a while,
with the cursor blinking malevolently in the lower left corner of the screen.
WordPerfect 5.0 works well. The FIXBIOS program that ships with WP51 doesn't
help. Suggested solutions would be appreciated and can be posted here or
E-mailed to Victor_KORENMAN@umail.umd.edu or to me. Thanks.

This is exactly the reason I sold my 158 cheap! - these are the result of bios and
other hardware incompatibilities - like the 768KB on the mother board whose
memory addressing conflicts with various 3rd party expanded memory boards.

If the machine has the latest bios version from Zenith (and yes, they have
updated it since ceasing to make the machine), there is no a lot else that can
be done short of a new machine.

But just in case I'm full of hot air, check with the zenith technical support
people. They will talk to end-users these days.
