Summary: Expires: References: <1992Nov16.074439.25854@athena.mit.edu> <BxuF67.B3A@unix.portal.com> Sender: Followup-To: Distribution: Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology Keywords: Well, I went through my dir's with dir /a:h and got rid of about 3 megs of files I previously deleted Anyone know why it did this? I also found the following files in the c:\ dir: IO.SYS 34,560 Bytes MSDOS.SYS 37,394 Bytes 386SPART.PAR 8,357,888 Bytes In c:\windows I find a hidden directory with a file in it that I deleted a long time ago. But, it is not letting me delete it. Any idea why? The others deleted fine. After deleting the hidden files chkdsk gives my 307 bad allocation units with 630K of space in them. Ill fix this with chkdsk /f My biggest question is about 386SPART.PAR what is this? Is this my swap file? I dont think it is, but I dont know much about swap files. All I know is that they should be typically about 2 or so meg right? whatever 386SPART.PAR is, It seems awfully big. Please help a newbie to configurations :) Derek --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "There Are Two Great Tragedies In Life, One Is Not To Get Your Heart's Desire.
