Steve Bellovin had volunteered to scan the 5620 schematics but his scanner has just broken. Would anyone else be willing to do it? If so, I will mail you the schematics and then I will distribute the scanned files on anonymous ftp on research.att.com. The schematics I have are about 25 pages which I have reduced to fit onto 8.5x14" paper. Greg Woods (woods@Elegant.COM) told me he has a package of 100 11x17" pages but he hasn't yet responded to my request to send me a copy. It sounds like his package is a superset of mine. On other fronts, I have sent an update to the 630_pkg to the Toolchest which includes 32ld and other stuff, but I haven't seen it show up yet. I hope to send the 5620 software generation system source in to the Toolchest soon where it will be available for $100. I have got it to compile on both suns and on System V machines. The package will include my latest version of Keith Muller's layers as well, just to keep the stuff all together. I have also put that layers up for anonymous ftp on research.att.com in dist/pub/dmdlayers.tar.Z. I also plan on putting up the 5620 ROM source in the Toolchest for $100 once I get the approvals. I found the source on a backup tape. At this point I'm not planning on putting up source for the character-XT or streams-XT layers. Packaging for them would be very machine dependent since it includes a kernel driver, and I don't really want to go through the trouble of packaging. I don't know if I could get the latest source for those anyway since I think they're probably somewhere in USL. - Dave Dykstra dwd@graceland.ih.att.com
