I found the "vttest" gem 
(which when run proves that almost nothing is a true vt100 emul.)
in a cohort's directory.  I mailed it to the requestor, and will do the
same for anyone .  It's 71k uncompressed.
(or pick it up in ftp/pub/vttest.shar on xylogics.com 132.245.33.7 )

I believe it must be run interactively...has a main menu and such.
