Is anyone aware of whether or not there exists a software package for unix that can determine terminal type by ASCII inquiry (a la VMS)? I am also interested to know if terminals that respond to the inquiry message distinguish which type of keyboard (or which keyboard nationality mode) is active in their response. If no program to perform this inquiry exists, I would like to build one (for public domain distribution, of course), but I do not know where I can get a list of terminal response IDs. Please e-mail me any info you might have regarding this...thanks. -frank
