I've looked in a few places, and can't seem to find and answer to this
one...
I've just installed linux (BSD) and it uses /etc/termcap instead of
/etc/terminfo.
I learned from /etc/terminfo (Solaris, SysV) that you can create a
terminal definition by (re)defining one or two things then use another
terminfo definition with the "use=" directive. Very handy; I could
easily customise lots of vt100-like terms.
I can't seem to find the equivalent directive for termcap. Is there
such a thing?
If so, then I could get away with making changes to only one or two
definitions to recofigure my terminal capabilities, then point the
others to the changed ones. (I'm hard-coding some decent colours into
my termcaps so that I don't have to live with boring white and grey on
black; the one I've modified works really well:)
Thanks.
Cheers
Tony
