Ok, I'll try posting this question again, this time with more details. I have a friend who has a Microtek 3000 scanner. He wants to write his own program to have the scanner dump its data through the RS 232 port, thereby avoiding the cost of buying a SCSI card for his computer. Apparently it has command codes similar to a modem for doing this. He wants to then convert this to PC-TIFF format (256 grays at 300dpi) because he has software that he can use to manipulate the image. Does anyone know the TIFF file format? Thanks, Alistair. P.S. Thanks for responding to my original post Karin. -- .______/\____________/\_____________________________________________________. |_*___/__\__________/__\____/\____________Alistair_Hirst@mindlink.bc.ca__*_|| |____/ \/\ / \ / \ ______________________________________|| |_*__________\____/______\/____\____/_____!van-bc!rsoft!mindlink!a2382___*_|| |_____________\__/______________\__/_______________________________________||
