Using DOS WordPerfect 5.1 and a Postscript printer. I was given a scrap of PostScript code that draws a picture that I'd like to include in a WP document. Ideally, I'd like to put it in a figure. Any suggestions? -- Sam Saal kingfish!saal OR saal@kingfish.att.com Vayiftach HaShem et Peah Ha`Aton

However, if the ps file has bitmapped graphics in it rather than ps code to generate the graphics, I think youre out of luck doing it that way. Pizazz Plus can also convert graphics to wp 5.1 format. However, you will generally be better off as regards quality of the output, if you print it separately. -- Allen Gordon *If the folly of but one of us was changed to* Research Associate *intelligence, and divided amongst a thousand* gordon@tramp.colorado.edu *toads, each would be more intelligent than * *Aristotle *

This is far superior to converting to .wpg format. As an earlier posting noted, you will only see the phrase Postscript information when you view the document. When you print the document (on a ps printer), you will get the high-quality ps output you want. Converting to wpg will allow you to view the graphic, but output quality goes way down. Am I missing something? I have wp version 5.1. Thanks in advance for any enlightments.

After the conversions, I still got the message sounding like "graphics for postscript printer" when previewing the graphics on the screen. Obviously, the graphics are still written in postscript, which wp cannot render, not in wpg. Though I can get the graphics printed nicely on postscript printers. Am I missing something? I have wp version 5.1. Thanks in advance for any enlightments.

I don't use Mathematica but I had the same problem with eps
files from Harvard Graphics. I found out that WP expects
only plain eps ascii text files that begins with %!
while some applications have additional codes before
the %! (WP does that to convert to wpg) so just use
your favourite editor and removed everything before the
%! before converting and it should work fine.
Hope this helps.
