ASCII dashes in WP5.1

I have an ASCII file, created under UNIX, that contains a bunch of
dashes (-). I imported it into WordPerfect 5.1 and would like to
search for (and replace) the dashes. simply searching for a dash does
not work. WP's code for a dash is "[-]" but the ASCII dash is "-" (no
brackets). I tried searching fom an mdash (I don't recall the <ctrl>V
code) but that didn't work, either. Can anyone tell me what to enter
as the search string so I can find these dashes?

Have you tried the various <CTRL-V> codes for hyphen, endash and emdash?
Look in the WP file character.doc or character.tst for the correct
codes.

Hope this helps,

Edwin

Several kind netters sent mail saying that <home><dash> would produce the
correct dash. It does.

Works great (and less filling).

Thanks for the net.help.
