"The Topic Map Graph: The technical basis of XML Topic Maps"
XML Topic Maps are an emerging standard for global knowledge
interchange (aka "the Semantic Web"). After a brief discussion
of topic maps (what they are, what they are good for), and a
brief discussion of the state of play in the topic map standards
arena (who's doing what, and why), the presentation will focus on
the best current proposal for ensuring the reliable interchange
of knowledge with topic maps: the Topic Map Graph, released
in draft at XML 2000. An engine that demonstrates how the
graph may be visualized, traversed, and queried will be demonstrated.
