The next meeting of the Washington Area SGML Users Group is

the doors periodically.

AGENDA:

Tom Gavin and Joseph E. Hughes Processing XML documents in Java

The speakers will present an overview of XML and the Java
language. They will introduce the two types of parsers, event
based and tree based. An introduction to various Java
technologies is presented (Applets, Servlets, JSP) to serve a
foundation for XML processing on the web.

Tree based parsing will be demonstrated
with various Java programs using the DOM API. Event based
parsing will be demonstrated using the SAX API.

Tony Graham, Mulberry Technologies - How XSL Works

Are you interested in the new
                          Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL)
but don't know how it works? Do you
want to use XSL but don't know where
                          to start? This presentation introduces
XSL to people who have not used it before.
                          Through simple examples, it demonstrates
the basic concepts of XSL, the structure of
stylesheets, and how to produce both HTML
                          and formatted output.

Currently we need speakers for both the technical and vendor
presentation portion of future meetings. If you would like
to give a presentation at a future meeting, please send e-mail
