Following a discussion with some people, I had to withdraw my
recommendation to use HTML as an intermediate format for
conversion RTF/Word/WP <-> LaTeX.
I am sorry I cannot give ANY recommendations now.

Reason:
Some conversion route which works well for someone else
does not work at all for me, and if I found out a way which
works for me there is at least one other person for whom
it does not work at all.
Everyone seems to have different demands on a converter,
and for each available converter there seems to be at least
one system configuration where it does not work at all.

So I am sorry I can only recommend that you try yourself.
I am just giving a list what is available, but cannot
tell you whether it will work for you.

(I am still hoping that some day there will be some
 useable converters which can be generally recommended,
 either directly or via html, which by then should include
 maths as specified in the html4.0 draft.)

The latest version of the FAQ list can be obtained via
<http://www.kfa-juelich.de/isr/1/texconv/texcnv.html>

For all who read this and already know these www pages:
Yes, I moved it just one directory down and renamed it;
moreover, it is now split into 3 overviews and 31 detail files
because it grew too long.
Moreover, from now on this html version is the only one
which I continue to maintain. I just don't have the time
to maintain other versions in parallel.

The list also resides on CTAN in the directory
.../help/wp-conv/wp-conv.zip
This zip file contains the complete set of html and txt files
but not the downloadable binaries.
(The ... stands for a host specific base directory,
which often is either "/pub/tex" or "/tex-archive")

CTAN means "Comprehensive TeX Archive Network"
See <ftp://ftp.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/CTAN.sites>
for a list of CTAN-Sites
