What, me again!!
Well thanks to all the people who have helped me get DVIPS up and
running on VMS. I now have a working/limping system running DVIPS
5.474. I tried to build 5.56, seemed OK but couldn't get any output,
some kind soul sent me a working 5.474 so...
Stiil a couple of problems remain and I was hoping someone could help
me sort them out.
1) Postscript fonts.
I want to produce docs using postscript fonts but I cant work out what
to do. DVIPS seems to look for fonts TEX_VFDIR:font.vf. Unfortunately
there were no .vf fonts in the distribution I got. Two questions:
(a) Does DVIPS really need these .vf fonts? Or are the TFM
fonts the same just need some definition?
(b) Is this all I need to do to get postscript font output?
That is, I just get/build the .vf fonts and voila! postscript
fonts in output doc.
2) Some \special{psfile...} keys dont work
The angle=, hoffset, etc keys in \special{psfile=file.ps} are ignored.
Only the hscale and vscale keys are successful. Is this a known
problem? Do I need to do something different?
Used via \special{psfile=filename.ps hscale=70 angle=90 voffset=100}
etc.
Any assistance gratefully received.
