I have them on the shelf in front of me:

Jeff Waldon: File Formats for Popular PC Software (1986) 0-471-83671-0
Jeff Waldon: More File Formats for Popular PC Software (1987) 0-471-85077-2

The first covers Symphony (1.0 & 1.1), Ability (1.0), MultiMate (3.30),
WordStar (2.2x-3.31), WordStar 2000 (1.01), plus a few spread sheet and
data base formats.

The second volume covers FrameWork (1.0, 1.1), Rich Text Format,
Volkswriter 3 (1.0) and WordPerfect (4.1), plus plus.

There is also a book called "PC Formats" (or something like that) from
a publisher I don't remember the name of, but it doesn't cover any WP
formats not covered by the Waldon books.

For more up to date information, you'll need to go straight to the horses'
mouths. Some vendors part willingly with their format specifications,
others refuse point blank, while some ask you to sign a non-disclosure
agreement.

If there are specific formats you are looking for, email me and I may
be able to help.

Cheers,

Steve
