The HP Deskjet is a {\em dandy} TeX output device. Obvious changes to
Beebe's dvijet driver produce code that prints slowly but correctly.
It's not that slow---a few minutes per page. When I start using the
run-length compression that the printer supports, I expect the speed to
roughly double (maybe a minute per page). The new version of the deskjet
is said to be up to 5 times as fast as the old version for graphics (which
means TeX output).
If I really get picky, I might fuss with the fonts. Very heavy strokes seem
to come out a little {\em too} thick.
