DVI preview program for graphics terminals?

Does anyone know of a preview program that allows somebody with a
graphics terminal to preview dvi files? I used to use one on a
VMS system that was called "dvitovdu." I believe it was written
in Modula-2, and it seems to me that the comments were in French.
It came on the VMS distribution in a public contributions directory.

It worked with Tektronix 40XX and 4100 series terminals,
DEC Regis graphics terminals, and a bunch of other types I hadn't
heard of before.

Is that program or something like it available for Unix systems?

Post a reply if you think it will be of general interest, or mail
replies to me if you don't think anybody else will be interested.

                         Thanks,

                         Grant Edwards
