Document/Library management systems

I have a need to do full text searches on 100Mb+ of Wordperfect
documents. The documents are in constant flux with about 3Mb of
additions/changes/updates per week. The documents are library masters.
Users will search the documents and then take a copy of the master of
their choice.

Ideally I would like to maintain logs of the accesses made to the
library, enforce some security and generate some statistics.

The documents are on a Unix server.

Does anybody have experience of Document Management or Library
Management solutions that could deal with this load?

I have tried to use Softsolutions, but the indexing load on
the Unix machine was ridiculous. I'm not happy with the user interface
either.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Apologies if this sounds like an advert but the question was asked...

We at Memex have developed a information retrieval system which seems to fit
your needs.

    o True full content access
    o No indexing
    o Data compression 3GB text -> 1GB on disk
o Real-time edit without loss of search access
    o Unix based. Client/server architecture. MS-Windows clients.
    o Parallel processing hardware options.
o C based application integration library
