Well, today was the day I tried to use Glyphs, after a few weeks of Unidraw. There are some things that have me totaly confused... 1) I need to have the bacground of a window change colour (this will eventualy be done with dispatch). I also needed to be able to detect a click anywhere in the window. To do this, I defined a new class, inherited from 'PointerHandler' and from 'Background'. Now it catches mouse clicks ok, but how do I change colours!? I looked at 'Telltale', added the required methods (redraw, allocation,...) but that does not seem to work too well :-/. 2) I have a 'Label' that I am adding into the Window. Now, between compiles I changed the text from 'Message#!' to 'Message'. I removed all object code, and re-compiled. When I ran the programme, I see both 'Message' and 'Message#!' overlayed on each other. To make matters worse, some suggested that I ran the programme twice, the second window was full of 'static' (random memory). Why is this happening (I am assuming it is Persistant Objects), and how do I stop it? I can probably nut the 1st problem out, as well as the 2nd, given time. But time is something I don't have, and unless I can show some progress in the use of Glyphs, it is back to Unidraw. I thank anyone who can help me with these annoying problems. I know the above descriptions are less than adequate, but the code is at work (if you'ld like to see the code, I can mail it from work). Paul Miach.
