Hi, I am in the process of porting the InterViews source to my operating system and have a few questions, but first a little background. The operating system I work on QNX (a distant Unix cousin). It is a POSIX compliant operating system, with everything except XWindows (can you imagine such a thing 8-) About 6 months ago, I ported the X11R5 to QNX. This port consisted of only the Xlib, as the Xtrinsics had so much code that depended on a 32-bit architecture (QNX is a 16-bit operating system) that that portion must wait till much later. This has left me having to create my own set of widgets. I recently learned that InterViews was a C++ window system, built on top of XLib. The code was supposedly compatible with AT&T C++ version 2.0. This seemed to be exactly what I needed. I ftp'ed the source code from stanford.edu, and started building. The port went quite smoothly until I reached the Unidraw library modules. Here, the vendors of my C++ compiler must have a different idea of what AT&T 2.0 compliant means (the product is the Intek C++ compiler from Draiken Software). I am now receiving so many warnings and errors, that I have begun to question whether or not I can pull off this port. To make things a little more compilcated, I was never able to port imake to qnx, and the make I have is not entirely compatible with Unix make. This makes it necessary for me to do all compiles by hand. Here are my questions: 1) Could someone do an 'ls -lR' of an installed InterViews system and send it to me. This will allow me to know what directories need to be created, and what needs to go where. 2) What portions of the source code is necessary to use the InterViews system. For example, there are multiple source directories available: Dispatch IV-X11 IV-look InterViews OS TIFF Task Unidraw . . . 3) What can I do with just Dispatch, IV-X11, IV-look, InterViews and OS ported? 4) What if anything should I do with my problems with Unidraw? Is there someone close enough to the developers that could guide me through the changes necessary to get a clean compile? Thanks Jim Carroll
