HP's windowing environment (sorry, forget the name) was completely
configurable by the user. The default was not too similar to the Mac
"desktop". Someone at Apple got a hold of one of these, fiddled with it for
a while, and ended up with something that looked pretty close to the Mac
"desktop".
Apple sued HP and MicroSoft because of it. Ta da.
I wish people would start innovating again...
