Re: keyboard/mouse lockup: PS/2 Model 35 at WFWG Password Prompt RAM in these systems is a 4MB and 2 x 2MB). RAM is either 70 or 80ns. The 4MB SIMMs have rows of switches but these are set the same on machines which do and don't manifest the problem. Speed differences in RAM are not a differentiating variable either. As I said some time back, IBM look to Microsoft as soon as they hear its WFWG and I can't find anything on microsoft's site. I tried changing the NICs IRQ, ROM and I/O address. They are 8 bit SMC cards and have jumpers for 280,IRQ 3, 300, IRQ 5 or soft. The ROM is either soft or D800. I tried all options, and excluded the ROM area in config.sys and via an EMMexclude line in SYSTEM.INI. None of the above made any difference. For what it's worth, even though the mouse and keyboard had locked up, I could still access files on the disk from another networked PC. -- David Longley Longley Consulting London, UK Behaviour Assessment & Profiling Technology, Research, Data Analysis and Training Services, Small IT Systems http://www.longley.demon.co.uk
