advance apologies if this is going to the wrong groups.


i'm hoping that i can find some help on this question...

we recently purchased japanese copies of the following software at work:

ibm dos 5.0v, windows, word for windows, and excel.

since i do not know any japanese, and the people who will be using
 it are not familiar with installation or potential hardware software
 problems, i'd appreciate any suggestions on the following topics:

- layout of the software.  can japanese windows run from english
 dos?  can english windows run from japanese dos? can english
 and japanese windows both be loaded on the same local pc from
 either dos?

- we currently have other windows programs, such as quattro pro
 for windows (v 5.0).  can these windows-based programs run under
 the japanese windows?   my initial guess would say no, but i'm not
 sure.

- we are using a network configuration, through a sun sparc workstation,
 using pc nfs 5.0.  will the japanese software work in conjunction with pc-nfs?

- i have heard that in japanese dos, a user can "toggle" between english
 and japanese, if need be. is this true?  and, if so, how is this accomplished?

- finally, are there any other problems that need to be overcome, or that i
 have overlooked?
