Large Model vs. Medium Model in MS-Windows 3.1

MS-Windows 3.1 no longer prevents multiple copies of a large model application
from running at the same time and most of the toolkits for C++ (ObjectWindows &
MFC) need to be compiled as large model applications when using DLLs.

Does this mean that it's OK now to use large model instead of medium model
for MS-Windows applications?

Is there still a performance penalty in addition to using far pointers?

Do large model applications behave any differently than medium model ones
in regards to sharing resources with other apps?

If there's any documentation on the above, please let me know.

You can mail any responses to me and I'll summarize to the net.

Thanks in advance.
