I am trying to get the ShowDIB example program in the SDK to work
with 24 bit DIB files.   The program hangs when it tries to load 
them.  Other formats, such as 8 bit or monochrome bitmaps,
work just fine.  I have traced through the code and it
dies in the Windows routine that creates the DDB.

Has anyone gotten ShowDIB to work properly with 24 bit images?

I have also not gotten ShowDIB to write an RLE compressed file.
This is in the Options section under Save.  I looked through
the manual, but very little mention is made of the compressed
file except that the flags exist.  There is some discussion of
what the format looks like.
