I am using SDK comm calls to access the serial ports with XON/XOFF enabled. I get into a deadlock situation when the sender transmits an XOFF to me and then hangs. I have no control on the sender so it is up to my application to time out and recover from the XOFF. What I though I could do is to detect XOFF using COMMSTAT bits and then close and reopen the port. This doesn't seem to me like a good solution. Is there any way to force serial driver to start accepting data without reopening the port or receiving XON? I greatly appreciate your help. Please forward your answer to bahman@mdd.comm.mot.com I will post the suggested solutions in couple of day.
