I would like to know what kinds of functional things Windows requires of,
or can give to, the video driver.  In particular does Windows only pass
to the driver what things to draw where in a screen, or does it actually
pass such things as what is going on, such as where each distinct window
really is and the contents by window rather than just one big screen.
