t > Does anyone know the reasons under which CreateWindow can fail? t > How can you find out why CreateWindow failed (indicated by t > returning 0)? In an application I am writing, after creating 29 (exactly t > 29, and 29 every time) Edit controls, the next call to CreateWindow to t > create an Edit control return 0. The EditControls are using memory of the local heap for their edit buffers. May be, that your amount of local heap is fully used with EditControl #29. But this is only a guess! Try to verify it! Allocate some memory on the local heap (simply a big global variable - it's the same data segment) and look, if the possible number of EditControls changes. If this is the reason, you should allocate the edit buffers in the global heap. The way to do this was printed in Microsoft System Journal and also discussed in this area. Greetings Martin Schloeter
