Hello to all the gurus of windows multimedia. I am wondering whether is
there anyone out there who have written a windows program in C7 which is
able to record and playback the midi events using a callback function.
I have just started
programming in windows and I'm going into multimedia stuff. So if there
is any kind soul who have written such program before , it would save me
a lot of effort by not reinventing the wheel. I would also appreciate it
if someone has the complete source program of the DRUM machine which is
discussed in the PC MAGAZINE of MAY 12 issue which I could ftp. Any
other source for working with midi under windows is also appreciated.

Another last problem I had is the MIDIMON sample program which is provided with
C7 under the samples directory. The program is written to accept midi
events, place it in the circular buffer and then displayed to the MIDI
monitor screen. But everytime I run it, it generate an error message
which says 'An invalid parameter was passed to a system function '. I
have traced the source of the errors and found out that the MidiInOpen
function which called a callback function in a DLL was the cause. So how
do I tackle this problem? This is a sample program and it is supposed to
work. Could it be that the setting of the system configuration or
windows environment is incorrect. I am using a sound blaster pro card
which conform to the MS Multimedia Level 1 SPecification set to Int 10,
Channel 1 & Address 240H. Any guidance or assistance is again much
appreciated. Thank U. Cheers.
