Does anyone know of an easy way to automatically install a group
file? 

My software is complete and now I want to write an installation
program that will create a group file which will appear in the
program manager. I want to do this so the user won't have to go
and create a new program group and item for my software.

The SDK (I don't have the 3.1, yet, but know it's in the 3.0, in the
thin overview book) gives a description of the DDE messages you send
to program manager, to add a group.  You can have it use a specific
group file, or add individual icons to a group that it creates.

If you need a simple installation program for your app, I suggest
you purchase EDI Install from Eschalon Development. It costs only $50.
There is no way to justify writing your own at this price.
