Where can I get information about developing device drivers for
Windows 3.0/3.1? I know MS has a DDK, but I would like to figure
out if what I have in mind is possible before spending any money.

I would like to write my own COM driver to support several custom
functions on COM ports, such as monitoring and enhanced messaging.
I know 3.1 has improved COM functions, but there're still not up
to the level I need.

Where can I get information about this stuff? Thanx for any help!

Chekck out "Writing Windows Device Drivers" by Daniel Norton. This
book delvs into many of the Mountains that need to be traversed
in writing driver for Windows.
