Is it possible to get the same level of control over windows with the
Borland compiler and their ObjectWindows AF as it is with the
Microsoft compiler and SDK? I want to be able to get down to the
"real nuts & bolts" of windows in order to do a non-standard
application (i.e. it won't look like the examples in Borland's
documents, maybe like nothing in the Petzold book, either). Can I do
it with Borland's compiler?
Also, anybody got anything good, bad, or indifferent to say about
Microsoft's 7.0 release? Still supposed to be available tomorrow like
I hear? I'll keep your anonomity if you'd like. :-)

Can I do >it with Borland's compiler? ObjectWindows does not prevent you from using any of the Windows APIs directly. In fact, since OWL doesn't currently encapsulate any of the GDI functionality of Windows, for example, you have to use the Windows API directly for GDI. You can freely mix OWL code with standard C calls
