Printing GDI with various printers....

Hello,

I am posting this for a friend of mine who does not have Internet Access:

Has anyone had any trouble using GDI to print to various members of the
HP printer family? I am providing a simple x, y plot, the y axis label
with simply characters on top of one another. This works for the 2
printers I have (Apple LaserWriter II and the Epson FX-80).
However, the HP Deskjet does not print at all -- a customer says
Print Manager queue shows the job, but nothing happens. The HP LaserJet
IIIP and IIp are unreliable -- the 300 DPI mode may work, but 75 and
150 DPI show part of the graph with the y axis label missing. Without
going on too much: I am trying to provide device independent printing
for a simple x, y plot, I am inquiring of the printer via
GetDeviceCaps() its resolution, pixels per logical inch etc., but the
results are not homogeneous (especially it seems for the HP). What am I
doing wrong? Anyone have any similar problems?

Doug
