I received an email message on this problem (page breaks in the middle of the page) yesterday. The problem was fixed by selecting Tools/Print/This document only: Widow and Orphan control. What Word was trying to do was to prevent the last line on a paragraph from being printed on the next page. But since this paragraph was the first paragraph under a heading, I had grouped the paragraph and heading together. Thus, Word broke the page at about 5.6" down the page. Since this file was only one of a much longer file, this page break was most undesireable. Turning off the above Print option fixed the problem.
