Does anyone know of any problems installing/running the new >MicroSoft C 7.0/Windows SDK package (which REQUIRES and COMES WITH >386Max memory manager) on a DRDOS SuperStore drive? I have not tried SuperStor but have managed to get the others to work. 386MAX works very well except that it didn't detect smartdrv.exe (4.0). Install smartdrv.sys instead and 386MAX will offer to replace it with QCACHE.... This has the advantage in that it appears to cooperate with 'smart memory'. Configure QCACHE for 512k cache and to lend 256K (/s:512 /L; 256) and you should be able to run C7 from DOS (provided you have most of the shadow ram area free for re-mapping). A bigger cache will mean you will have to run C7 from windows as the memory manager. Basically it is a bit tight with 4M but PWB is now really useful and much quicker than C6 versions. I had to install a data acquisition card to develope code which robbed me of page D - 386MAX didn't like it's toys being taken away - make sure you have a bootable floppy in order to manually edit the config.sys if necessary. 386MAX is a very nice product and a surprising bonus with the upgrade. I just need more RAM and a much bigger hard disk and a new bookshelf for the manuals..... Neil
