Under the INSERT menu of W4W 2.0, select SYMBOL [stuff deleted on how to go through a number of menus] The procedure that you outline does the job, but it is no good for Spanish typing (or any other foreign language). Accents in Spanish are frequent, so you don't want to have to do the insert-menu routine every time. What I've done in the past, is to reconfigue the keyboard from the control panel to a Spanish (or is it Latin American) keyboard. After that, the keys will be as in a typewriter/computer bought in Spain or Latin America. The accent will not advance the carriage, and if the next letter is a vowel, it will place the accented version. Some of the symbols change position, so unless you have a keyboard chart, keycaps, or good memory, it can be somewhat confusing. Yet another option would be to write macros or hotkeys. I've never gotten around to do that on WfW, although using FrameMaker I just map Alt-a, Alt-e, etc to the accented versions, and Alt-n to the "enie".
