        Hello everybody:
        I madly need your help. I spent the whole day trying to install
Win 3.1 and I couldn't. It's a real shame-- I used to think my CS degree
has some value.
        The problems is that I still run 3.0 no matter how I install it.
First, I did try to upgrade. It did not work-- Setup died while copying
the FON files. I copied the first two disks onto my HD and run it again--
it was OK now.
        That is all for the time being-- I cannot run anything but the old
stuff. Moreover, now I *can* run only in S mode *despite* the fact that
386MAX doesn't support S mode! It is a nightmare. Windows cannot find two
files needed for E mode.
        I am sure that I run 3.0 because the prog. manag. says so-- running
Windows 3.0a in standard mode. I don't have screen saver, etc.
        I am running 386/25MHz, 4Mb, ET4000, Stacker, 386MAX.
        Please, help ASAP. I feel I am missing something very simple, but
I couldn't find it. I tried to install in a new DIR-- same effect.
        I WILL HIGHLY APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK.
