MS Windows is so cheap ($ >49 discount price $99 list price) that there is no excuse for not buying a >registered copy. (I have 3 registerd copies, one for each of my computers). Before you slap the handcuffs on this individual: a) There are documented instances of computers being shipped with legitimately pre-installed copies of Windows that did not include Windows manual(s) in the shipment of the computer. b) If Microsoft site-licenses or sells multiple copies of Windows to an organization, it is possible that the number of manuals may not be equal to the number of installed copies of Windows. c) Did you ever lose a manual? d) FYI - OEM versions of Windows (and MS-DOS) do not have the hologram on the manual.
