Remote configuration tool? (HERMES?????)

Does anybody know, if there is a remote configuration tool for
networked PC's available somewhere (commercials welcome..)?

The idea is to be able to change/edit any *local* file (on the local
disk) such as autoexec.bat, protocol.ini etc..., from a central PC
without having to be onsite.

I heard some rumours about a product from Microsoft called 'HERMES'
Anybody knows more?

However, I would appreciate any pointers to an available tool...

Thanks in advance...

Try Symantec's PCAnywhere and the LAN extension pack - it may be what
you are looking for. Our initial impressions are favourable!
You can even cause a remote re-boot to ensure chabges are effective.
